This 16thCentury coaching inn is one of those magic places where you can absorb the atmosphere of old (Charles II spent a night or two here) alongside the old log fire with a pint of your favourite traditional ale in your hand..

History abounds and you can almost smell and feel every moment of it in the reception hall and Dovers Bar (named after Robert Dover who initiated the Cotswold Olympics held on Dover's Hill).
They aim to spoil you for choice in the Noel Arms with a range of tasty British and Continental dishes sourced from local producers and prepared with those added extras that make every meal a special event that will forever remind you of the Cotswolds.
Oriental quisine is another real speciallity where the delicate tastes are combined into an exquisite experience.

000.49 mile - Lygon Arms - High Street, Chipping Campden
Originally a 16th Century coaching inn and run by the Potter family for many a long year.  It is renown for its friendly family atmosphere and traditional English food where you can eat in the bar situated under the main archway, one of three restaurants (non smoking) or even in the sunshine alongside the grapes in the picturesque cobbled courtyard.

Children are welcome in all dining areas. Special menus are designed throught the year to celebrate the new season food from local suppliers.  All lamb and beef offered on the menu is produced on their own farm and these are complemented by vegetables from the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswold Hills.

000.93 mile - Eight Bells - Church Street, Chipping Campden
Niel & Julie Hargreaves invite you to the oldest surviving inn in Chipping Campden.  Originally built to house the stonemasons who were building the nearby St James Church.  The name comes from the fact that it was also used to store the bells before they were installed in the church tower.
Open fires, oak beams and exposed stonewalls aplenty set the tone for a special Cotswold experience.  Award-wining Local and National Cask Ales sit comfortably alongside cloudy Scrumpy Cider and an extensive international Wine List.

Candle lit Dining Room offers even more fireplaces and beams and also has its own glass covered Priest Hole.  Menu's to suit your requirements and budget - not a  standard set menu offering little except compromise.

Children's menu and high chairs are available.

Sun-drenched (sometimes) terraced garden overlooking St James Church and the Almshouses provides an ideal and tranquil venue where you can relax and eat away from the roadside and its traffic.

Dining reservations on the terrace cannot be taken because of the unpredictable nature of the local weather.

001.3 The Bakers Arms - Broad Campden
From the High Street, turn into Sheep Street and at the top, turn left for Broad Campden and Draycott, etc.  Go past the Fire Station on your right and you will find the Bakers Arms on your left just after half a mile.

002.9 miles - The Ebrington Arms - Ebrington
Owners Claire and Jim Alexander offer a warm welcome to this unspoilt 17th Century stone built Inn that brims with both charm and character, and is only 2 miles from Chipping Campden.
The pub was originally the village Bakery, so both the cosy bar and the Old Bakehouse dining room have large Inglenook fireplaces, beams and bags of character - they offer a cosy secluded place in winter whilst the lovely walled beer garden offers a perfect countryside place to stop for a pint or meal in the warmer months.

Head Chef James Nixon works with local suppliers around the clock to offer only the freshest of seasonal ingredients.

He and his team create each dish from scratch and actively seek to support the local economy and at the same time keeping the restaurant's food miles down as low as possible.

003.0 miles - The Bell at Willersey

17th Century archetypal Cotswold stone-built inn overlooking the vilage green and duck pond in the centre of the picturescue village of Willersey.

This is the one we were not going to tell you about because we do not want it to become so crowded that we cannot get a booking on the day.

Maggie and Warren offer a warm welcome, a splendid ale from the cellar and a superb menu that keeps the taste buds going for weeks at a time.

Why not walk up to Dovers Hill, along the ridge and then to Willersey via either Broadway Tower, Fish Hill or Saintbury to The Bell to enjoy a lunch which, you can then walk-off on the way back via an alternative route and view.

Comprehensive menu to suit most tastes and a specials board that has to be seen and tested to be believed.

Enjoy the flare of an imaginative chef who can be relied upon to add the little extra that makes a special difference that you will find very hard not to enjoy.
